Apple will launch two 5G iPhones in 2020 with 5.4-inch, 6.7-inch OLED panel: Analyst


Apple is expected to launch three iPhones this year. There’s still time for the launch of 2019 iPhones but rumours and leaks have already revealed a lot of details about the three upcoming iPhones. Now a new report coming from renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reveals some details about iPhone 2020. The report suggests that like this year Apple will also be bringing three iPhones in 2020 out of which two will be 5G enabled.

If you have been waiting for Apple to get into the 5G business this year like the Android phone manufacturers, well, the new report from Kuo may disappoint you a bit. The report suggests that the two high-end iPhones that will launch in 2020 will come with 5G support. In the same report, Kuo reveals that all the three iPhones coming in 2020 will pack OLED panel and will be smaller than the iPhone XS.

The report suggests that the one 2020 iPhone will come packed with a 5.4-inch OLED display while the second high-end model of the iPhone will include a 6.7-inch display. For the second model too Apple is said to use OLED panel. In 2020 too Apple will reportedly bring iPhone XR successor. This third and the follow up of the iPhone XR is said to come with a 6.1-inch OLED panel. The successor device to the iPhone XR in 2020 is expected to come with LTE support.

The report also hints at the fact that people waiting for a compact and small iPhones may be the happiest with the 2020 iPhones. Additionally, in the same report, Kuo reveals that the two 2020 iPhones with 5G will use Qualcomm modems as Apple’s in-house 5G modem may not be ready by 2020.

Currently, Apple is said to be working on three iPhones to launch this fall. Some reports suggest that the launch of iPhone 2019 aka iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Max and iPhone 11R is going to be slightly delayed this year. This year, 2019, Apple is expected to launch the new iPhones later in September, possibly in the last week of the month. Rumours and leaks suggest that the two high-end iPhones – iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Max – will come with three rear cameras, while the third iPhone aka iPhone 11R will come with two cameras on the back.
